FIELDTRIP to ARSHT CENTER on MONDAY, 10/1

Rock Odyssey at the Arsht Center will take place October 1st. Rock Odyssey is high comedy combined in this rock musical from Emmy winning composer, Billy Straus, Kleban award winning writer, Stephen Cole and directed by three time Parent's Choice award winner, Douglas Love. Follow our hero, Odysseus, as he fights his way home to reunite with his wife and son. Beautiful stagecraft, special effects and a rockin' Miami based cast pump up the volume on this original spin on Homer's classic tale for families to enjoy together. This year the Arsht Center once again partners with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to host more than 26,000 5th grade students as they learn about Greek mythology in this original, Center-produced educational outreach initiative. Please be sure students come dressed in their GREEN FIELD TRIP shirt on Monday! Students will not be able to attend without this shirt.

Also, please send a bag lunch with your child AND an extra drink and snack. I will be allowing students to eat prior to the field trip at 9:30, because we will not be back until 2:00. There will be no opportunity to eat while on the actual field trip. I will have students eat again when we return so it is important they have an extra snack for after the field trip.*** If your child normally receives a free or reduced lunch, he/she will get a bagged lunch from the cafeteria.
